New! LogDog now provides LinkedIn and Slack account protection
Here at LogDog, we’re excited to announce: we now offer LinkedIn and Slack account protection for both Android and iOS users. While until now our popular security app offered coverage of the more traditional social networks, such as Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, we’ve now added coverage for two of the major professional networks as well.
The move is a significant one, as professional network hacks can be equally as damaging as personal ones. Think of what would happenif you had your Linkedin, Slack, or Dropbox hacked, and your personal professional data find itself in the wrong hands. Private company files could be hacked, personal contacts could be contacted with false information, you could be boxed out of your own professional networks and accounts…the disastrous options are endless.
Just how real of an imminent threat is professional account hacking? Real! In 2012 LinkedIn had 6.5 million users credentials stolen, and the encrypted passwords were posted online. Today, the same hacker who hacked LinkedIn’s database back in 2012, now hacked the emails and passwords of 117 million LinkedIn users, and is selling the data in exchange for bitcoins, on a popular black market website (Motherboard).
So how can the LogDog app protect you?
Our algorithms study the patterns of user device logins and geographic locations, cross-referencing them between all major online accounts such as Gmail, Dropbox, Facebook, Evernote and more. The moment an irregular pattern of activity is identified, we’ll notify the user so they can take immediate action, preventing possible damage from occurring. It’s important to note that here at LogDog, we never store user passwords. All online account information is encrypted and stored on user devices only.
So how can you start protecting your LinkedIn and Slack accounts with LogDog? It’s easy! Just log into the protection app for iOS or Android, and click to add your LinkedIn and Slack account details. If you’re not a premium user yet, now’s the perfect time to join, and protect your LinkedIn and Slack accounts as well.
